  • AI Guided Discovery and Design of Topological Materials

    The promise of topological materials in quantum technologies has yet to be fulfilled. In part, this is due to a lack of suitable solid-state systems supporting non-trivial topology and desirable energetic properties. Can generative AI help fill this gap?

  • Disordered Topological Systems

    Remarkably, band topology is generally robust to the introduction of disorder which does not close the bulk energetic gap. I am investigating the fate of band topogy in disordered systems admitting symmetry protected topology. I am also investigating the effects of disorder in projected topological branes, in which the properties of d-dimensional systems are embedded in (d-1)-dimensions.

  • Functional Organic Materials

    Modern technology is heavily reliant on rare-earths for their electronic properties. This has come at an environmental and increasing financial cost. Can we identify organic materials which replicate these desirable properties?
